Data Subject Access Rights

You can make your request by calling MIE on 012 6444 000 or emailing informationofficer@mie.co.za and using Subject: Data subject access request. You will be required to provide proof of identify and complete the Data Subject Access form

Once all relevant documentation has been received, MIE will process an ID Verification with Photo verification to validate the Data Subject information provided. On the outcome of a Positive ID Verification with Photo, the MIE Report(s) will be manually retrieved from the MIE system based on the information requested by the data subject. When MIE provides you with this report, MIE will be giving effect to your Right to data portability in terms of GDPR. Should the Data Subject require additional information in terms of documentation this can be obtained from MIE at a prescribed fee. The fee payable depends on the form in which access is required and the reasonable time required to search for and prepare the information required. In accordance with POPIA Section 23 (1)(b), MIE may charge a fee for providing this information and such a request may take up to 30 business days to complete. Should any further communication in respect of the MIE Report and the contents of the MIE Report, the formal dispute process is to be followed.
