MIE confirms the validity as well as the authenticity of a candidate’s Identity Number. MIE offers an ID Validation, confirming valid construction of the ID number according to Home Affair's algorithm.

Department and Bureau ID Verification confirms that the Name, Surname and ID number match.

In addition, MIE verifies SA Citizenship, SA Permanent Residence and whether a SA Passport has been issued to the candidate in question.

Finally, MIE also confirms Marital Status.
