MIE and Ideco

During November 2007, MIE and The Ideco Group entered into an acquisition agreement, with Ideco acquiring 30% of the issued shares of the then Kroll Background Screening (Pty) Limited in South Africa.

Two years later, in 2009, Ideco exercised its options and acquired the remaining 70% of the issued shares from Kroll in the USA.

MIE is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Ideco Group.

Projects include the world’s largest digital conversion of paper-based fingerprint records for the South African Department of Home Affairs.

Product Synergy

With the growing requirement to perform Criminal Background Checks via the SAPS Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS), MIE worked closely with Ideco's technologists to deliver easily accessible, cost effective and integrated biometric solutions to its many clients in South Africa.

In addition to background screening services, Ideco's biometric solutions naturally augment several of MIE's other products, including register based Qualification and Reference validation and Identity Fraud solutions.
